Decadence - Opulence - Debauchery

Decadence - Opulence - Debauchery: These are the three words Shiny Mama Cosmetics founder, Yana Chipenko uses to describe her line.

Besides how amazing her products are (ulta glitzy and ultra glam!), I was intrigued by Yana's story.  Serving as Director of Product Development and Marketing at Tony & Tina Cosmetics for 8 years, Yana was lost when the company was closed unceremoniously.  "I decided to launch my own line on my terms and with my own vision.  I didn’t want to work for another company and just be another number," she said. With that determination, Yana spend all of her savings and the next 2 years of her life building Shiny Mama Cosmetics.

When it came to branding the line, she tapped into her music background (oh yeah, iforgot to tell you: Yana is in a band - called Shiny Mama).  Everything about the line evokes Rock & Roll.  It's edgy!!!

I use several of the products myself.  My personal favorite is the GLEAM ALL, multipurpose pencil. On any given day, I'll use it as an eyeshadow ...& then double back and use it with my lip gloss to create some gorgeous hues.  It comes in both silver and gold & retails for 25 bucks. ...it's the epitome of affordable luxury!!

Anna Wintour & Marc Jacobs discuss FNO on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"

I tweeted yesterday about Anna Wintour & Marc Jacobs being on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to discuss Fashion's Night Out. If you missed it, here's the clip.  The Wintour and Jacobs segment starts after about 17 minutes of the video.

Lanvin X H&M

Our prayers have been answered people!!!  Yesterday, I blogged about the speculation of Lanvin doing a collaboration with H&M.  Today I am proud to blog to you about the confirmation of that speculation (hmmm....that last line sounded a little Jesse Jackson-ish. LOL).

Confirmed today in a release by Alber Elbaz, the Lanvin X H&M collection will be hitting 200 stores worldwide with the first being in the U.S on November 20.  The remaining locations will have the collection available three days later on November 23.  Alber Elbaz will be the designer behind the womenswear collection, while Lanvin menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver will be the designing force behind the menswear collection.  In the spirit of keeping up with their videos, the collections will be revealed in a short film on November 2 via H&M's website.

In the clip below, Elbaz says, "It wasn't a project about a dress for less. I think that I love the idea that H&M was going luxury rather than Lanvin is going public. I thought it was a smart concept, so I said - I do"  ...how matrimonial does that sound!?  Love the marriage between these two opposite fashion forces. I cannot wait to bask in the glory of Lanvin X H&M!!!

Rihanna: i'd wax that.

...obviously, I have some repressed sexual tension that seems to be seeping out through my blog titles today. LOL.

Yesterday, the wax double of Rihanna was unveiled at Madame Tussauds (in Washington D.C).  Rih-Rih wasn't present at the unveiling; but she did get to preview it beforehand. ...iLove it. [the wax figure looks more like Rihanna than Rihanna nowadays. #noEXTREMEshade ....iHate that new hair she has going on.]

iCannot take it anymore! H&M needs to cum already

Excuse the sexual reference in the title, but the news is orgasmic.

The past two days, Swedish fast-fashion retailer, Hennes & Mauritz have taken to their youtube page to tease the hell out of fashion-lovers worldwide.  I must say the marketing ploy is ingenious. ...create a demand for knowledge that will intensify the demand for the actual product when it arrives.  NICE!  [...not that they really need the theatrics: H&M has had no trouble moving garments and accessories over the years.]

With a series of black & white video clips showing designer silhouettes and distorted voices, H&M is putting us through a major guessing game.  The clips are being released to build anticipation for their upcoming collaboration.  The videos are supposed to hint to the identity of the designer. ...something like a fashion version of Clue, iGuess.

Speculations as of today, slate Lanvin's Alber Elbaz as the designer behind the upcoming collaboration.

Here's the latest of the teasers, posted just 4 hours ago:

We shall know who the designer is on September 9th.  I can NOT wait!!!  H&M has previously teamed up with Stella McCartney, Sonia Rykiel, Jimmy Choo, Comme des Garcons and Viktor & Rolf; Lanvin would be a dream come true!
